This has been bugging me at the back of my head for awhile, the whole "Dollers are completely talentless because they draw on a base, it's not their whole art", crap.
...Right. Okay, first of all, because we do it on a base, that doesn't mean it's not our art. Second of all, i make my own bases from scratch, a lot. As well as other people. Lastly, just because it's not PHOTOSHOP, doesn't mean it's not art. I'm seriously getting agitated with how over-glorified works like that are. Yes, some art on photoshop is AMAZING, i will agree. But it gets a little old, don't you think? What about traditional art? Pixel art? How much PIXEL ART or TRADITIONAL ART do you see as a daily deviation? Not a hell of a lot, that's for sure. And while i'm on this topic, there ARE people who put no work into their dolls whatsoever. Slap on some half-assed clothing, recolour the hair, no layering, no effort and showcase it up on deviantart like you're the queen of fucking anime or something. I might just put up a stamp to how much you people piss me off too. You're exploiting the base so your art looks half decent with a shitty 5-minute job, giving the rest of us senior dollers a bad name. EDIT: I'm bolding the above, because a bunch of half-ass dollers are now running in like I'm the priest of pseudo-dollers. I'm not advocating your stupid ways, I'm trying to defend the dollers who try to redeem the name you're soiling. NO, SERIOUSLY. STOP IT. |

Especially on the Photoshop part. It's like...if it's not Photoshop, then it's crap. Sure people pour hours into PS, but MS paint leaves absolutely NO ROOM for mistakes.

Really, it is your own art since you draw on the detail, personaly I find pixel art one of the best forms of art around. If that makes any sence xD;
